Everything is a Game

Hypercompetitiveness pointed in the right direction.

To say I’m competitive is an understatement. I’m really not that good at anything (please read My Imposter Syndrome post for context), but I do want to be the best at everything. Sometimes that competitiveness brings out the best in me, but more importantly as a teacher and coach, I’ve often found different ways to get the best out of others. Additionally, I like to make the rules, or at least, know them well enough to have some control over them or use them to my advantage.

When it came to my investing beginnings, I wanted to win but I didn’t understand the rules, or even know the game. I paid off debts randomly and aggressively and I threw money into “investment” products without education. I also paid money to various investment "advisors"… but I was always playing someone else's game. Others were the experts, they had control, and they were using the rules to their advantage. These advisors weren’t acting as our fiduciary but they weren’t doing anything illegal either.

There are many investment products to be bought and sold. There are also lots of different models for financial planners and investment advisors. Please, never buy any investment product or pay any advisor until you understand the game, the rules, & where it fits into your financial values, goals, & overall plan. I’d love to talk to anyone about my model for free.

I’m not selling any products. I’m solely acting in your best interest. I want to educate you on the rules of finance and coach you to win the game. I want to teach you systems and automations to manage your own finances. I want to help you find out where you’re at, solve problems, and get you on the path to financial freedom. I also want to get paid for a service that adds more value than the cost. I believe the best person to understand your money is you. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t seek out guidance to start, improve, change, or evaluate where we are in the game & how to win in the future. Even the best players have coaches.

I think I can empower anyone to win the game. Let’s game plan for Your Everyday ROI.
