Forever an imposter.

Feeling like an imposter has been one of the greatest motivators in my life. I’m always comparing myself to others. I know what I’m not, I know what I wish I could be. I’ve been surrounded by successes and never felt successful. There is nothing I could ever accomplish that would make me feel satisfied. I am always thinking about what I could have done or didn’t do that would have changed some result, no matter the outcome.

I believe this feeling is true for many individuals, educators, & coaches constantly striving to be their best.

I still feel like a child when looking up to my parents, great teachers, and fellow coaches. I’ve never felt like anyone should ever look up to me, especially if they knew what was in my head.

This definitely isn’t healthy, but I believe if this feeling ever goes away… I’ll lose whatever edge, whatever respect, whatever “anything” I have ever gained. Everyone will know who I really am, An Imposter.

He doesn’t deserve, he doesn’t know, he hasn’t earned… insert anything… insert everything.

At times I feel like I’ve poured nearly everything into being a great teacher and coach. Then I realize… no you didn’t, you had no idea what you were doing.

But here I am, starting a new endeavor around something I’m extremely passionate about. It was planned. I’m nervously optimistic. I have many doubts. Will I ever feel like I know what I’m doing? No. I’ll always feel like An Imposter.

This drives me. I owe it to those who trust & rely me to be prepared, to keep learning, to project confidence in my systems, to evolve with the times,… I could go on.

My goal is always to be my best. These are principles that I’ve taught, coached, and tried to live by. I want to be better, I want to make others better.

I’ve done this with my personal finances. I’m constantly learning, developing, and refining systems. I’ve seen results and I want to make a difference for others, especially fellow educators and lifelong learners.
